A garden for all seasons.

Seasonal Landscaping

The days may be getting shorter and the nights a little cooler but this needn’t mean you can no longer make the most of your outdoor living space. In fact if you are thinking of a garden redesign this can be a great time to do it as it’s likely you are using the garden a little less so this means there’s not so much disturbance to you and your family. Also many plants and shrubs are dying back and less greenery and foliage can make the landscapers job much easier. Late Autumn is also a good time to relocate plants and shrubs if required as they will have stopped growing and flowering and they can be moved without damaging them.

There are many features you can incorporate into your garden design to help you get the most out of it all year round. A great patio space for example will naturally draw you outside more and it can be a great place to sit out and enjoy your autumnal garden. The colours can be stunning at this time of year and after tidying up the garden and raking the leaves why not reward yourself with a comfy seat and a nice hot drink on your patio and admire the fruits of your labour.

Keeping warm of course is essential to helping you relax and enjoy being outside, especially during the chillier evenings. A patio heater or chiminea will keep you nice and warm whilst sitting out or why not incorporate a built in fire pit to toast your marshmallows on.

Another way of making the most of your garden in the cooler months is under cover in a  summerhouse or cabin. These are fantastic for sheltering from the inevitable rain but still having the feeling of being outside in your garden. Getting heating and electricity installed can revolutionise the way you use your summerhouse, surely there can be nothing better than being nice and cosy, admiring your garden through the window with a newspaper or a good book even when it’s cold and frosty outside.

Lighting is also important during the darker nights, not only for security but to help guide the way on paths and driveways, attractive lighting will also enhance the mood of your outdoor space and make it much more inviting. There are many different ways of incorporating lighting into your garden and you can be as creative as you like.
